Purpose: Heritage Woods offers this unique experience in combining the power of photography with the control of graphic arts. Students will have the opportunity to work within digital formats to create printed images of very high quality.
Content: Camera: introduction to digital photography, aperture and shutter speeds. Computer - Introduction to Adobe Photoshop, effects and image correction. Students will learn colour theory, composition, and the other 'Elements and Principles of Design'.
Final Note: Computer knowledge is an asset but not necessary to do this course. The focus is on imagery and image development. All levels of computer users are welcome.
This course is an excellent introductory course for students wishing to go on in the fields of journalism, graphic design, photography, or desktop publishing.
Students will leave the course with a portfolio of work. The portfolio could be a DVD, CD-R, web site, or in print.
